This policy explains what cookies this site sets, why, and how you can control them. It expands on section 6 of our Privacy Policy, which remains the primary document for how we handle personal data generally.

ComputaHardware is a trading name of SALEFORGE LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 17065254, registered office Malmarc House, 116 Dewsbury Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS11 6XD, United Kingdom.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something between page loads — that your basket still has an item in it, or that you are signed in. Some of what follows is technically stored in similar ways (local storage), but we cover it here for simplicity.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These keep the store working and cannot be switched off, because doing so breaks checkout. We do not ask for consent to set these — UK cookie law does not require it for cookies that are essential to a service you have requested.

  • Cart and session — remembers what is in your basket and ties your session together as you move between pages (for example woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart).
  • Sign-in — keeps you logged in to your account so you are not asked to re-enter your password on every page.
  • Checkout security — protects the checkout form against cross-site request forgery and similar abuse.
  • Load balancing and caching — used by our hosting and caching layer to serve pages correctly and quickly.

3. Functional cookies

These make the site more useful but are not essential — the store still works without them.

  • Wishlist and compare — remembers which products you have added to your wishlist or compare list if you are not signed in.
  • Recently viewed — remembers which products you have looked at, so we can show you “recently viewed” on product pages.
  • Cookie notice dismissal — remembers that you have seen and dismissed the cookie banner, so we do not show it again on every page.

4. Analytics and advertising cookies

We do not currently run analytics or advertising tracking on this site — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels. If that changes, we will update this page before any such cookie is set, and where consent is legally required we will ask for it first.

5. Payment cookies

Our payment providers may set their own cookies or use local browser storage during checkout — for example to remember a connected crypto wallet for the duration of your session, or to detect fraud. These are set by the payment provider directly and are covered by their own privacy and cookie policies, not ours. We do not control them and do not receive your full payment credentials either way.

6. Third-party embeds

Where we embed third-party content — such as a payment provider’s checkout widget — that provider may set its own cookies while their content is loaded. We list the providers currently in use in section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

7. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time — every major browser lets you view, block or remove cookies on a per-site or global basis. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working correctly.

Blocking functional cookies just means we cannot remember your wishlist, compare list or recently viewed items between visits — nothing else on the site is affected.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
