Description

Storage is where a lot of budget PCs cut corners — a single small drive that fills up fast and slows down as it does. This refurbished Dell OptiPlex avoids that problem entirely with a proper dual-drive setup: a fast SSD for Windows and your everyday programs, plus a spacious 1TB hard drive for everything else, all wrapped around an NVIDIA GT 1030 graphics card for genuine (if modest) gaming capability.

Key Features

  • Intel Core i5-6500 processor — a quad-core 6th-generation Intel Core i5 with a 3.2GHz base clock and 3.6GHz Turbo Boost, and 6MB of cache, well suited to everyday computing and light gaming workloads.
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 2GB dedicated graphics — real, dedicated video memory and a genuine graphics processor, a step up from the integrated graphics found in most stock office PCs.
  • Dual storage: 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD — Windows and your most-used applications live on the fast SSD for quick boots and load times, while the 1TB hard drive gives you huge, low-cost capacity for game libraries, media, documents, and backups.
  • 16GB DDR3 memory — double the RAM of most entry-level refurbished machines, giving real multitasking headroom.
  • Small form factor chassis — compact, quiet, and easy to fit into any desk setup.
  • Windows 10 Pro pre-installed — genuine, activated, and ready to use immediately.

Why the Dual-Drive Setup Matters

A single small SSD sounds appealing until you actually try to install a handful of modern games on it — a 256GB drive fills up in a couple of installs. This machine sidesteps that entirely: the SSD stays free to run Windows and your most-used software quickly, while the 1TB hard drive soaks up your game library, media files, and everything else that doesn’t need SSD-level speed. It’s the same storage philosophy PC builders have relied on for years, and it means you’re not constantly uninstalling games to make room for new ones.

On the graphics side, the GT 1030 is honestly an entry-level card — no external power connector, and not built to chase high frame rates in demanding AAA titles at high settings. Where it performs well is esports and lighter titles: League of Legends, CS2, Rocket League, Valorant, and similar games are all playable at 1080p on low-to-medium settings, and older or indie titles will run comfortably. Combined with the i5-6500’s solid quad-core performance and 16GB of RAM, this is a genuinely capable everyday PC that can also handle a reasonable range of games, rather than a dedicated high-end gaming rig.

As with every refurbished unit we sell, this OptiPlex has been pulled from commercial service, cleaned, tested, and verified fully functional before listing — giving you enterprise-grade build quality and reliability at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent new PC.

It’s also a genuinely sensible option for anyone who already knows they hoard files, photos, and old game installs rather than deleting them — the 1TB secondary drive means you don’t have to develop good storage habits overnight just to keep the system running smoothly. Set up your most-used software and current games on the SSD for speed, and let the hard drive handle the long tail of everything else you don’t touch daily. It’s a practical, low-maintenance way to get both speed and capacity without paying for a large SSD outright.

Every dual-storage unit we build goes through an additional check most refurbishers skip — both drives are individually tested for read/write errors and drive health before the machine is listed, not just the SSD running Windows. It’s a small extra step, but it’s the difference between buying a 1TB hard drive that’s actually sound and one that’s simply present in the machine. For anyone weighing this up against single-SSD-only OptiPlex builds elsewhere in our range, the extra capacity here is worth considering if your existing game or media library already runs into hundreds of gigabytes.

  1. Adam R.

Good value for money. The dual storage setup is really handy for keeping the OS drive uncluttered. Does everything I need for work and a bit of casual gaming in the evenings.

  2. Natalie G.

Love having the extra 1TB HDD alongside the SSD, plenty of room for games, files and photos. GT 1030 is fine for esports titles and older games, just don’t expect much from anything modern and demanding.

  3. Connor L.

Great all rounder. Boots fast off the SSD and there’s loads of storage for the price with the HDD included. GPU is basic but I knew that going in, does exactly what I needed.

  4. Zoe H.

Runs fine day to day but the case shows its age a little with some scratches on the top. GT 1030 really can’t handle newer games well even on low settings, though it’s absolutely fine for CS2 and older titles.
